Who we are & why we exist

Formed by community members who saw the need for a structured, people-focused organization dedicated to young women, persons with disabilities, and caregivers — championing inclusion and empowerment since 2020.

"I got pregnant at 16 and feared facing the world. SIC gave me back my confidence. My fellow members are like family — and now I mentor other young girls so they don't repeat my mistake."

📅

Our Journey

We began in 2020 as a self-help group — neighbours coming together to support one another. In 2026, that grassroots spirit was formalised when we registered as She Is Change (SIC) CBO, giving our work a wider reach and official voice.

🌸

Back-to-School Support Drive

The drive ensured that no child missed school reopening due to lack of learning materials, with costs covered through member contributions and a small donor grant.

"I got pregnant at 16 and that forced me to drop out of school. I felt neglected and feared facing people. SIC empowered me — they gave me back my confidence. I no longer feel alone as a young mother. My fellow members are like my family. I also now mentor young girls still in school not to repeat the mistake I did."
